BIOGRAPHY
Strong, focused, powerful and intelligent
are words that begin to describe Ahmed Marshall. Born on St Lucia and weaned on tropical fish and fantastic fruit drinks, Ahmed and his family found their way to Canada in his early years, settling in Calgary, Alberta in 1982.
Throughout his
youth, the streets of northeast Calgary kept Ahmed lean and
mean. His
experiences there helped him become a star wide receiver with
St. Mary's University and later
with the University of Calgary-
where he was also a sprinter.
While in University, Ahmed was recruited by 1998 Olympic gold medalist
bobsledder Dave MacEachern and enjoyed impressive results on the national team.
In 2001, with Pierre Lueders' four-man crew, he was seventh at a World Cup in Germany and helped Lueders to third overall in the World Cup combined standings.
In 2002 Ahmed was part of the Canadian Olympic Bob Sledding Team at the Salt Lake City Olympics. He was instrumental in helping the team place within the top ten. How many people can say they were on an Olympic team? Ahmed can.
Ahmed is an
athlete,
Kinesiologist and
Fire Fighter.
Currently, Ahmed personally trains athletes, through what he calls Dynamic Lifestyle Performance, to the very highest standards- so that they might meet or exceed their goals. He does this with determination, care and enthusiasm.
Ahmed is a crucial part of the Everest Freestyle Expedition, taking its team members from seasoned climbers to incredibly strong alpinists who are benefiting daily from his intensive cardiovascular and core training.
