July 20th: 'Not Possible'

by Phill Michael

Chilies in Jiri

Episode 2 of our podcast is posted at www.secretspot.tv ! Check it out!

I slept well last night...too well. When I woke up, I looked at my watch and it was noon! I went up for...mmmmm...brunch...and found Dawa and Gelu enjoying the smells of the kitchen.

I was hoping that Gelu was working his way into the heart of a rather attractive kitchen helper named Bimala. I suggested that he do so the day before and he said, 'Not Possible'. We all laughed and laughed when he said that. I'm sure that phrase will be used quite often during this trek. %^)

The majority of the day was spent eating, working on the laptop and watching the rain pour down.

The food was exceptional and I was looking forward to an early night so that I could wake up at 3:30am...and call the Loose Cannons of AM570 KLAC in Los Angeles.

So much for sleep. I went to my room at 10:30pm and lay awake UNTIL 3:30am. I guess the day was not full of enough physical activity?!

The rain stopped just as I was about to go and set up the satellite phone. Joy. The satellite was picked up by the apparatus almost immediately, with an impossibly strong signal...and after punching in a series of numbers, Sonn's (The Loose Cannons producer) voice was heard.

I was actually deliriously tired by the time I connected with Los Angeles, so I don't remember the conversation that well. I do know that there was the usual laughter and good cheer and that I was ready for sleep immediately after I disconnected.

Sweet, beautiful sleeeeeeeep... :^O  zzzzzzzzzzzz
