Rambally: Dzo Master and Zen Master
Episode 1 of our podcast is posted at
www.secretspot.tv ! Check it out!
Steller McKneller!!!! I managed to
connect with the Loose Cannons in Los Angeles at 4am. You can click
here to download the mp3 . ALSO...the internet
server at the Kathmandu Guest House seems to be humming along today. My
optimism wasn't wasted.
It's 10:30pm...and I am sitting cross
legged...underneath a tin roof in the courtyard...while the rain pours
down. When I say 'pours down'...I mean in barrels full. I am pretty sure
I saw a fish swimming through the deluge. There are tourists running
around...yelping like they've never seen water. Most amusing.
Hmmmm...this isn't most amusing
though. The server just went down again. Blame it on the rain...%^}
I was actually expecting to see a
great deal more rain like this in July. Thus far, it's only rained an
average of an hour a day...mostly in the late evening. Que bueno! =^)
I also managed to download the draft
version of Episode 2 of the podcast for
www.secretspot.tv . It's a
wrap. Chris is going to post it tomorrow.
In the years to come, it's going to
be funny to look back on these first few podcast episodes and chuckle at the
amateur nature of them. They will become much more polished as we get
better equipment and more manpower (especially behind the cameras).
I raise a mug of ice and Coca
Cola...a toast to the future!! =^P
The updated Sherpa page was also
completed today. You can check it out by clicking on the 'Sherpas' tab
at the top of this page. I was smiling like an idiot as I processed the
images of the Sherpa. Soooooo many good memories to reflect upon...and
so many to look forward to. We should be called 'Team Smiley'. =^)
The image for today is of our first
(and hopefully only...in the future) Dzo Master. Rambally rules! Our
second 'Dzo Master'...whose name I can't remember...is now called Kukuru
Rum Boy. That's his name...if and when he redeems himself. We even named
him that in Episode 2 of the podcast for
www.secretspot.tv. He drank a
gallon of Kukuru rum on the morn of June 19th...probably with Mr Tashi...then
tried to guide our Dzo to Pheriche. Needless to say, I found him laying
face down in the dirt that afternoon...right in the middle of the trail.
There was not a Dzo in sight. It was hilarious. Nothing was lost...so it
wasn't a big deal. For anybody that knows me well...they can assure you
that I wasn't too stressed about it...at any point in time. That day was
excellent. You can read all about June 19th when I finally get it
posted. Hopefully in the next two days!
Only a couple more days and Dawa and I
will head out into the wilderness. The rain hasn't been too extreme...at
least in Kathmandu...so maybe we won't be wading up to our thighs in
leech infested waters. Maybe.
It will be good to bust out of the
metropolis of Kathamandu and get some exercise on a seldom traveled
trail. Oh ya.
Soon it will happen! =^)
